My name is Yan Qing Zheng. I am from China. I speak Mandarin, Fukianese, and some English. I am married. My husband works as a chef. He works in a restaurant. We have two children. They both go to school.

I live in Manhattan, I live in an apartment building, It is a sixteen-story building, I live
on the second floor. My neighbors are Chinese. My neighborhood is very nice. Shopping and transportation is convenient. The subway station is a 7-minute walk from my home. The bus stop is only a 3-minute walk from my home. There is a travel agency, a fast food store, a snack bar, a barber shop and a fruit market on the street in front of my building, There is also a supermarket, a jewelry store and a restaurant near my building.

I don’t work. I am a housewife. I take care of children at home. Monday to Friday, every day I usually get up at 7:30, cook breakfast at about 8:10. Then I send children to school, Shortly before 9o’clock, I go to an ESL class on Madison Street to learn English. At 12:00 the English class finishes. I go home. Sometimes I do some grocery shopping on my way home. At 2:30 I pick up my younger son from school. After I get home, I cook some food for my son. Then I do some household chores. At 6:00 p.m., I pick up my other son from after school. I am busy very day, but I am happy.

I came to America in 1998. Before I came to America, I was a cashier. I worked in a restaurant. My favorite hobby is playing majong, badminton, and dancing. My favorite restaurant is Dragon Garden in Chinatown. My favorite food is Lobster with Garlic Sauce. My favorite music is “King Manor’’. My favorite movie is “The Legendary Warrior”.

I am very grateful to my parents for giving me my life, and teching me how to work around the house and how to take responsibility.
